App ledgers stay on your device and in your own iCloud, shared with your group through iCloud. WeChat summaries and submissions are encrypted on the device; the server stores ciphertext. Share links containing the key only with fellow travelers.

Both. Choose settlement by household or by person when creating a trip. Each expense is split among its actual participants using their shares, then combined into amounts each household or person settles with the organizer.
No. The organizer creates the ledger in the iPhone app and enables web invitations. Android users or travelers without the app can claim their identity, add or withdraw their own entries and view recent expenses through a WeChat invitation. The web page needs an internet connection. Submitted entries join the main ledger and settlement only after an iPhone participant opens the app.
No. Everyone starts with one share. Set a full or half share by expense category and adjust it for each entry. Someone who did not participate pays nothing for that expense. Changing defaults affects future entries only; earlier entries keep the shares recorded at the time.
The iPhone app records offline, saves locally and automatically syncs through iCloud when you are online. Shared recording requires the device to be signed into iCloud; without it you can still record locally. The WeChat web page requires an internet connection and does not support offline recording.
Each entry keeps its original amount and is converted into the trip's settlement currency using fixed rates confirmed by the organizer. Reference rates are not real-time prices and do not automatically change confirmed rates. If the organizer explicitly corrects a fixed rate, affected earlier entries and settlements are recalculated. Previously shared settlement images must then be generated again.
Leftover cash still belongs to the households that deposited it, so record who received the refunds first. Bring every currency balance to zero, confirm all rates and assign everyone to a household before generating the final transfer list and settlement image.
The app supports iPhone with iOS 26 or later and is available as a TestFlight beta. The beta signup page is open (checked October 4, 2026); whether you can join depends on the TestFlight page and device requirements. Install TestFlight on your iPhone first, then use the beta link to join. Web access for fellow travelers requires an invitation shared by the organizer; it is not a standalone Android app.
